The Aurum Checklist
The same careful check, every visit.
Every visit follows a consistent checklist so nothing gets missed. Anything we flag is photographed and written up for you.
Here is what a standard visit covers. Your own to-do list comes on top of this.
Air and safety
- Air conditioning filter checked and replaced when due (you supply the filter, or we can source it)
- Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms tested; batteries replaced where needed
- Alarm manufacture dates recorded, so you know when each unit is due for replacement
- Ground-fault and arc-fault outlet test buttons pressed and recorded
Doors, windows and hardware
- Doors, hinges, locks and strike plates checked, tightened and adjusted
- Cabinet hinges, pulls, towel bars and closet hardware checked and tightened
- Sliding doors: rollers and tracks looked at and cleaned
- Weatherstripping and door sweeps checked
- Window latches and screens looked at
Kitchens, baths and laundry
- Under-sink areas and around appliances checked for moisture and leaks
- Caulk and grout in wet areas checked and noted
- Dryer lint trap cleaned; exterior vent flap checked
- Water heater area and air-conditioner drain pan looked at (photographed if anything is wrong)
Outside
A walk around the home, from the ground.
- Gutters and downspouts looked at from the ground
- Hose bibs, exterior hinges and fasteners checked for corrosion
- Shutter hardware and stored panels checked ahead of hurricane season
- Gates, fence boards, soffits and screens looked at
- Irrigation timer checked against Broward County watering days
Everything else
- Your own list: the tasks you want done this visit
- Anything that needs a licensed professional is photographed and written up for you
- Home record updated; report sent after the visit
